Levels of Care.

Skilled Care is ordered by the physician following a three-overnight stay in the hospital. Covered by Medicare and health insurance, Physical, Occupational, and/or Speech Therapy is usually involved with this admission.

Intermediate Care is also ordered by the physician; however, a hospitalization is not required.  Residents in need of this are assisted with various activities of daily living.

Dementia Care is ordered by the physician when residents are in need of a quiet environment and a secure surrounding along with assistance with various activities of daily living.

Respite Care is also ordered by the physician and is short duration (14 days or less). As the name indicates, these services enable aging adults to remain in their own homes and community as long as possible. These services complement the facility’s mission and, for the individual, help to bridge the gap between independence and long-term living.  In addition, it can provide a needed break (respite) to family members/care-givers, allowing them to attend a wedding, take a vacation, etc.
